Perfect age for sleepaway camp.
My daughter goes to runoia.com in Maine - super chill and traditional (but not in a stuffy way) set on a beautiful lake with horse riding, sailing, etc.

You didn't say where you are in the DMV, and that would help us make appropriate recommendations.

Also - join your local pool and have her do summer swim team. Laid back (not like year round swimming) and she'll meet friends her age who live nearby

I was going to suggest exactly this.

Is this a joke? It can take years to get into your neighborhood pool.

There are still spots available at the three area sleepaway Girl Scout camps throughout the summer. You don't need to be a Girl Scout to attend.

If you’re in Maryland I highly recommend the Kids After Hours Travelin’ Teens camp! DD 12 really loves it.

OP look for local camps and call all of them. Just go through the phone numbers.

If you are in Virginia and are looking for art classes, you can check at ArtHouse7, The Art League of Alexandria at the Torpedo Factory, and MOCA Arlington to see if they have any openings.

Some community centers, like TJ and Shirlington in Arlington, have clay studios, art studios, and maker spaces where community members can go and work on their own projects.

We don’t know where OP lives. In NoVa a lot of pools have years long wait lists. Also my kids are in the 2nd week of practice for summer swim.

I'm going to let DD 12 hang out around the house some this summer but I need her to be out of the house for at least a few weeks. My DD goes to Frost Valley in the Catskills - its great!
I just did a quick look at their registration page, looks like there is a 12 year old girls slot in their Resident Camp for the 1st and 3rd sessions.

Farm Camp looks like it has a firs session spot too!
