Some fun new costume jewelry from BaubleBar, or Target has a surprisingly nice selection as well.

A new lipstick if you wear it.

Mani/pedi at your local nail salon.

A new lipstick!
A bubble bath and do a facial and hair mask at the same time. Jazz in the background. Read or lit candles.
A glowy primer eg Charlotte Tilbury

Im loving Thrive tubing mascara. Doesn't smear and is light enough for every day without looking like im going out clubbing.

Agreed on flowers because they are beautiful but not connected to you, they just exist in beauty. And TJ’s last well.

Bright nail polish, new earrings, fun shoes. I like stuff that can be worn daily or close to it because I tend to save the really nice stuff and then never use it so the pick me up is limited to receiving the package.

I just bought myself some really bright fun summer nail polish and new foundation. Makeup is usually my go to for feeling better.

How about a massage?
Cheaper than breast implants

Rocky Road Haagen Dasz: temporary feel good, almonds for protein; don’t forget the calcium; and almost $100 these days.

When I was kind of depressed during the pandemic, on a whim I once got flowers at Trader Joe's, and was amazed at how much they brightened my mood.

Buy a pretty vase and get flowers at Trader Joe's once a week.

Clothes, makeup, skincare, I don't know. Some kind of treat. Under $100 would be great but I'm open to more if it would solve all my self-esteem problems on a temporary basis.

I'm 44, a mom, my career is stalling, peri-menopause is hitting me hard, I don't get enough sleep, I don't have enough friends, my marriage is okay but I feel like we're totally out of sync, I'm feeling all the middle-age "what does it all mean?!" hard and I just want to feel beautiful or well cared for or both, even if it's only fleeting and based on a great dress or fantastic perfume or something.

Yes, yes, it would be better for me to be asking for therapy recs. This is cheaper! Help a mom in a middle life crisis feel good about myself for a minute!
