Probably just my opinion , but tutoring writing is a huge pain, compared to reading. The kids aren’t as into it, so it’s like pulling teeth. If you do get a writing tutor, make sure they start with a phonics inventory the first day. That we’ll help them assess any gaps that may be impeding your dc’s writing. Honestly, I’d just try to find a reading teacher.

Does MD have this?

Contact the reading tutors and ask them if they can tutor writing only or writing as well as reading.

Me too! I’m surprised more teachers in this area haven’t registered to be on the approved tutor list.

I've been approved for the funds and now I just to have to get a tutor. The list isn't giving me a lot to go on since I want a tutor who does writing specifically and not reading. Any advice for how I can find a writing tutor?
