I got engaged at 18. My parents said they wouldn't pay until we were 22 and out of college, but then they would absolutely pay for a wedding. They also said we couldn't afford our own insurance in college or even rent or groceries. (side note- I'm happy they told me to wait. I dated that man for 6 years, but we later broke up amicably. I'm glad we never married)

Wow! Are your kids completely financially independent of you?

18, because that’s when they become my adult children.

My baby brother is getting married this summer at 22. I think it works for him. I’m not sure I would be thrilled if any of my kids chose to get married young, but I would support them.

As soon as they have the ability to support themselves without me financing things, I am fine with them getting married.

I got married at 22. If my children find their people that young, good for them!

I’m not paying for any wedding. If my kids want to get married, they’ll have to pay for it themselves.

Well, they have to find someone first. So at least a year from now. So 27 fo4 the oldest and 25 for the youngest.

I’d contribute whatever the age, if I can. I’d rather my boys not get married until 30 but it’s not my call.

I paid for three weddings for daughters who got married in their mid 20s. It would have been fine if they married the guys the did a couple years earlier as well.

It is all about maturity and partner. My nephew has a fabulous girlfriend. He's 21 and she's 20. And I would support their marriage in a heartbeat.

My son, however, is a bit clueless, and far too young in terms of maturity for marriage.

I married at 20 after graduating from college. I had a small backyard wedding.

I married at 23. My parents contributed to the wedding and my husband paid the rest. Now my kids are teens, I would contribute as well. Why not?
