Ok this is OP and this is exactly what I need. If I can use the service to help mom find someone and she can pay them directly that’s what we need…and cancel the subscription once we hire someone. Sounds kind of like Angie’s list where you pay the subscription fee to find the contractors you need but you pay the contractors directly.

I don't know anything about Care.com, but if there is no neighborhood facebook page, there are other ways to find someone through word of mouth.
Does your mom go to church or other house of worship? What about your mom's neighbors?

You do not want to pay for care if you just need a cleaning person.
