My kids cannot be trusted to do it all in their own. It’s a constant battle

I supervise it twice a day for my 7yo.

Twice a day, kid does it himself. He's 11. This is the norm. What kind of dentist would be ok with once a day?

AM - usually brushes himself with electric

PM - usually he brushes and I do a check, or I start and he finishes. I do floss him every single night.

I still brush my 7 year old’s at night, and she does the mornings.

I don't. They're not toddlers anymore.

I don’t brush their teeth by the time they’re in elementary school. They brush their own teeth twice a day.

7 year old and he brushes himself 2x daily. I help floss once or twice weekly.

Twice a day, but DD got some decay in her grooves before the dentist put in sealants, so we’re on top of it now before it turns into full cavities. Manual toothbrush in the morning and then an adult checks, kids Sonicare at night on her own.

This is the elementary school forum. I did not brush my children's teeth beyond helping them learn how to do it in preschool. Currently they brush once a day, before bed. I and their dentist would prefer it to be twice a day, but the mornings get hectic and it gets missed.
