No news is good news at our school. If your child fails, you get a call the next day asking if you want them to take the expedited retake.

It was a mixed bag. One teacher told all of the parents every kid passed the SOL in a weekly email. Another was tight lipped. YMMV. There's little consistency here.

I do think it matters, though. If your kid fails, you can get summer school, which can impact camp plans if you need to make new arrangements.

My kid’s school sent a poorly worded email about retakes, so I emailed teacher. She said all she could say was a retake wasn’t necessary. My child is in AAP, so I am relatively certain she passed her grade-level AAP.

FERPA request if you really want to know, but the time to do that was before the sol so they couldn’t just run out the clock on responding

I would not assume he failed. If they were allowed to provide that information to you, wouldn't they do so all the time? Interestingly though. my middle schooler was told his core on both of his SOLs (both high pass).
