OP already applied for level 4 and was denied and level 2 and 3 are equally ineligible for center placement. If teacher request forms haven't already been turned in, OP should be writing about how their kid loves to be challenged and how the local level 4 curriculum would be great for them. Hopefully they pass advance their math sol and do well on their iready because advanced math is the best way into level 4

How do you get that idea from the original post?

At our school, LIII was sent at a different time then LII and kids were added to LIII throughout the school year. LII letters go out at the end of the school year, LIII came out at the beginning of the school year.

LIII is an hour pull out once a week that is a bit hit or miss dependent on your school. DS seems to have LIII about 3 times a month, his Teacher misses sometimes for reasons that are unknown. He enjoys it. I know he has friends whose parents choose not to join the LIII classes or pulled their child from those classes because the kids have to make up the material they miss in their class. Some parents found it a pain to do that work at home. DS seems to be able to complete it at school without an issue.

Advanced Math was also determined at the beginning of the year. Maybe ask your AART what their timeline is for these things at your school.

LIII is more then reading as well. DS has had a series of lessons that were very much math centered in LIII. For example, they learn math using different bases and there are a decent number of logic problems and games. You child's scores are high, this is one of the few places people will tell you that a 97th percentile score is not high, but what are her strengths and how curious is she. And know that the decisions can be adjusted throughout the year. Maybe they are worried that missing an hour in the classroom could be an issue for her.

Why do you want level 3?

Her scores are relatively high. 97%percentile on non verbal on CogAt 127 overall. Not genius but smart. She got level 2 for reading for the 2nd time but is not being recommended for level 3. What can I do
