And Dr. Pepper fountain in a cup with ice and a straw. I only drink it on road trips, but it is a must have.

Alternate salty and sweet, so, Pringle and plain M&Ms

If I'm trying to be healthier, salted cashews and raisins

If I am really being healthy, grapes

In my car, the Chessmen would go out the window.

I’d eat some of those butter cookies in the blue tin, though. The one your grandma keeps her sewing supplies in.

We always bring a small cooler on road trips to pack cheese sticks, cut up apples, cherry tomatoes and to keep drinks cold. We also bring granola bars, almonds, trail mix, and popcorn.

I love junky road trip snacks but try to pack relatively healthy snacks because I know I'll inevitably grab some junk food when we stop, or we'll get fast food for lunch or something.

We don't take road trips, but while flying we always pack the peanut butter pretzels from Trader Joe's, dried mango, bottle of water/coconut water, and sometimes a chocolate or strawberry crepe roll up.

Why?

It truly never occurs to me to buy them any other time. As soon as a road trip comes up, I hunt them down in the grocery store. I'm sure if they weren't for a "special" occasion, they'd just be run of the mill trash.

What are you favorites? I am a salty chip fan, so Doritos, etc. I like to try the local brands of potato chips you can't get here.
