In 2021, our family ( 2 adults+ 1 child 6 year old) averaged about $850 per month ( groceries only). Last few months it's about $1000 a month. I'm trying to buy on sale good quality foods ( organic, grass fed type), mainly shopping in Costco, Whole Foods, Safeway. We don't buy ready to cook meals, we don't do any take outs. Rarely going to any restaurants.

2 adults and 2 toddlers about $400 per month in groceries and another $2-300 eating out. No one eats lunch at home (work and daycare) and I’m on a low calorie diet….

2 adults and 3 kids. Realistically around $1000-1100 a month but I don't keep perfect track.

I just looked this up because I was curious, we are 1100ish for three people, not including take out. I spend pretty recklessly and it includes a lot of WFM prepared foods. I’m sure we could cut it way down, but this is what it looks like without trying.

We averaged $900 in 2022 and $929 so far in 2023. That's for two adults and a toddler. This was $662 in 2021 and $715 in 2020 - but I don't know whether the increase is our toddler eating solids, pandemic pricing, or both.

4.5 people (our nanny eats lunch and sometimes snack at our house). Probably $1000-$1200.

How much did your family spend on groceries last month?
For how many people?
