Even if it months later, I would love to hear back on how this works. I may have an older single sibling moving here in a year or two on a similar budget.

The Promenade on Pooks Hill Road would be perfect. My parents used to live there and loved it. Lots of community events and a wide range of ages.

The Grand (on Nicholson in Rockville) has a good amount of seniors but it may be slightly above his price range. The Promonade in the outskirts of Bethesda (rental via condo owners) also has a good amount of seniors and prices typically include all utilities and more in his price range. It's a very nice looking building with good amenities.

My FIL is planning to move to MoCo to be closer to my family, and would like to rent an apartment. He's looking for a relatively affordable 1 BR (<$2000/month). Doesn't want to be in a senior community, but would like some other older folks around (he's in his late 70s). Searching on rental websites seems overwhelming - there are SO many options. Does anyone have recommendations based on personal (or parents') experience?
