Jackson was the Alpha. He couldn't show weakness, or as though he needed help.

Anyone watch this wildly beautiful series?

We like to think we humans are "special" and different, but we're no different than chimpanzees and many other animals. Aggressive males, killing a rival "other" because you can, even if they've done you no harm. Being angry that you're left out and taking it out on women (female chimps) and children. Grieving our friends.

This series was beautiful, but looking at the chimps was like holding a mirror to our own species.
