There Are many reasons why you can get an administrative transfer. We had one for a very personal reasons it was up to the principals discretion.

Yes you can, sometimes. Like I said, it’s happening in a middle school.
Middle schools do transfers though. The teacher's kid would get a transfer for any of the reasons any other kid would.

Yes you can, sometimes. Like I said, it’s happening in a middle school.

No you can't. This hasn't been a thing for a long time. Teacher's kids would only get transferred to a nonzoned school for the same reasons any other kid would get transferred. Also, no preference for kids if their parent works at a lottery school.

+1 A friend who works for APS (and is a resident of Arlington) couldn't get her DD transferred to the school where she works because they were at capacity.

Generally no but there are some limited exceptions. You’d have to be zoned for another Arlington school, there would need to be space at the school where you work and you’d have to qualify under one of the administrative transfer categories. I think they’ve tightened it up quite a bit over the last few years. I was not able to get one.
