Super disappointed with the teachers and admin at Greenwood. I would not send any kids with disabilities here

Greenwood has the good test scores which seems to impress people so you’ll have the bragging rights about being at a “ good school”

Classes are 21/22ish. Generally nice kids with diversity slowly increasing. Many kids walk to school. Lots of kids in Tanterra and Halloween is always fun. School does not handle special needs well. More behavior issues starting to pop up (chair throwers) but that is at many schools in the county. Active PTA and many school events. The town of Olney is a bit blah but not terrible. Love the farmer's market on Sundays.

Olney is a try hard town.

Rosa Parks has gang problems?? Do you have kids at this school? My impression is it's predominantly white, entitled, affluent kids. I would say there are problems at every school in the county at every level (elementary, middle, high school). There are many other schools with much bigger problems.

Sherwood HS is 49% White.

You can go wrong if your child has any special needs- greenwood does not handle these kids well. The current principal is weak...many families who can are considering private

Search the forum and you’ll find lots of recent discussions about the area. It’s a good area and you can’t go wrong.

We are looking at moving to Olney. Our daughter is in Kindergarten and she would start first grade at Greenwood ES. Does anyone have any information? How big are the classes? Are the teachers experienced? What’s the climate like in Tanterra and the Greenwood community?
