I recommend getting "Beck Diet Book". It's a cognitive behavioral therapy approach that works with any diet. It's a 45 day plan where you make flashcards to deal with all the thoughts and feelings that come up with weight loss. The first step is to make a flashcard listing the reasons why you want to lose weight.

Also, go get a week at a glance calendar/diary today. On 5/20/23 (today) write "day 1" and get started.

A year from now you'd wish you started today.

I lost 30 lbs with WW and incorporating other strategies as well

Good luck

I don’t love ww, have done it before and it “worked” for a short term but I always quit. Stressed me out. I am using Noom and I like it. None of the weird bad feelings I got with WW. Maybe try that instead.

Why not just count calories and treat the calories as money?

I would love to do an in person, but there are none near me. It is ridiculous.
FWIW, I am in 22101 (McLean). The closest one is over ten miles away in Herndon.

What is going to be different this time vs your last time you signed up? I think you change it up and attend in-person meetings. Meetings will keep you accountable. Make it a priority.

I love it. It’s changed my relationship to food and helped me eat in ways that give me more energy and make me feel more nourished.

The app is very helpful to me. I use the barcode scanner to pick products at the grocery store and the restaurant listings help me choose when eating outside the house.

I’ve heard AA members say of the AA program “it works if you work it.” That’s true of WW. If you’re at a place where you’re willing to change your habits or you’re desperate to stop weight gain, then you need WW. WW does require some work, but it will benefit you in the long run. If you want to lose weight and keep it off and eat more healthily, WW is a good investment.

Give yourself 6 months. Count the money as gone. See what happens 6 months from now.

I've done it before (signed up, not followed). Doing it online is not that much money at all, but I can't quite pull the trigger. However, WW makes sense to me (like having a dollar budget to live on) and I like that it nudges me toward choosing larger quantities of healthier foods as opposed to smaller quantities of junk.

It's the best idea I've got, but I can't quite start.
