I bought llbean 100% cotton sheets a year ago and love them. They are holding up so nicely. I think they are ones you could keep for a long time, making them environmentally friendly.

We use a linen cotton blend and they’re great.

OP here. These are the ones we have, and they’re terribly scratchy! Maybe we got a bad batch? They’re a year old and haven’t ripped but they’re far from soft.

All cotton is the only material that is comfortable.

Is microfiber ok, then?

What? No. Cotton is a natural, sustainable fabric. Microfiber is plastic. Why would you think that is better for the environment.

Microfiber is plastic so not great for your body or the environment

I mean, I would never have microfiber sheets because I just don’t like how they feel and I don’t think they breathe well enough.

How about linen sheets? They last forever and get softer over the years

I like target threshold sheets, they are long-lasting which also makes them better for the environment than the more $$$ sheets I’ve bought over the years that didn’t hold up.

Considering how long sheets last, it is probably not the biggest problem to buy the ones you like best. Focus on cutting back on plastics, red meat, car use.

Should I care about the environment? Should I care about our health? I’m not sure. Do we need cotton? Is microfiber OK? I think I would prefer cotton… Right?

Thanks!
