OP, it’s fine if it’s fine for both people. Sounds like your husband is not comfortable and so he shouldn’t do it.

I just always kiss on the cheeks or forehead. The kids realize nobody is kissing them on the lips and they stop eventually.

Baby sugar... barf. I don't kiss my kids on the lips, though in some families it's normal. I am very conscious of their personal space and don't make them hug or kiss anyone, even though some adults in their lives feel entitled to a hug whether it is wanted or not.

I’ve never done this and don’t do it with my kids, neither does my husband, but I know a family where it’s common/universal even into adulthood, doesn’t bother me.

Help solve a disagreement between me and DH. He thinks it’s weird for him to kiss our kids on the lips…DD3 always goes in for a kiss and he avoids it. He stopped with DS6 years ago and now comments that it’s weird for me to.
I grew up with European immigrant parents and extended family and we definitely kissed family on the lips for a long time. His family is great but I don’t know how affectionate they were.
