You really want to never remove the bike rack?

We have a Thule hitch rack for our minivan, and it can fold down. I did not get the kind that swings away because it was a lot more expensive (and heavier), but it was certainly available 10 years ago.

How often are you biking that you're never going to take the rack off? As long as it folds down, I suppose it's not really an issue.

We have a hitch mounted yamika that folds down to access rear door

FYI you have to remove them to servide the car and get car wash. It’s like 10 minutes with the key and bolt (you gotta spin it).

You want convenience, quality and ease of use? 1-Up makes heavy duty hitch mounted racks and they have an add-on for it to swing away from the trunk. It'll add up quickly though...these are metal and made in the USA.
