+1

Decorations are too personal.

A functional appliance like PP’s suggested Keurig would be better if you want a tangible gift.

Out of my kids' 3 colleges, two did not allow banners/flags, I think because they were a fire hazard.

I’ve never heard this, what schools?

Amazon gift card would be nice.

My DD got her things from PBTeen, Amazon, a few things from Bed Bath & Beyond (RIP).

If you really want to give her an item and and not a GC, maybe one of the mini Keurigs with a selection of coffee/tea/hot chocolate pods? My DD got one of those from her grandmother and uses it a lot. We got her some little bottles of flavored syrup so she can make fun coffee drinks.

None of DD’s friends shopped at dormify. Most of her friend group looked at Target, Garnet Hill, Pottery Barn dorm and company store. Also bought many things at Container Store.

None? Really? LOL
I’m sure if they had a gift card (ie, free money) they would’ve found something to buy there. They sell the exact same things that are sold at Pottery Barn, target, , etc..

OP a gift card to any of these places would be fine.

2 kids in college. Never heard of dormify.

I just moved my 3rd kid out of his freshman dorm and saw many of the other kids moving out those 3 tiered wheeled carts you can get a Michael's. My kid had one too, as did both his older siblings.
https://www.michaels.com/product/lexington-3tier-rolling-cart-by-simply-tidy-M20002049

They come in handy for many things--my kid got one of the toppers that they sell separately https://www.michaels.com/product/white-lexington-cart-topper-by-recollections-10559456?michaelsStore=8801&inv=1 and used it as a coffee cart (Keurig on top, various pods, mugs, etc. on the lower shelves.)

My older kid had one and used it as a nightstand.
I think the middle one just used to to organize snacks and drinks in his dorm room.

I know from the college parents face book page that some of the girls used it to organize hair products, make up, etc. and that they fit nicely under the suite's bathroom counter, but that might vary by dorm.

Anyway, they are very versatile and from the looks of dorm move out last week, a majority of the students had one.

Quality pillow with a school logo pillowcase. Quality pillows are a thing. No not a $200 pillow but a nice one - make sure it fits the pillow case.

It’s so kid specific. My DD is just finishing her sophomore year and has really been a minimalist both years. But I know some students (young women, especially I guess) go a little bananas with the “aesthetic” so you need to know what kind of a kid, your niece is

What's is THE dorm room decor trend? Looking for a gift for my niece, to go along with a check for graduation.
