Quite correct.

What these people are looking for in vain is a school that isn’t public but that doesn’t cost as much as many Independent private schools.

Catholic schools appear like a good alternative except for that icky Catholicism that’s in the curriculum and sprinkled throughout the classes that they would like to avoid. I assume that if they had their way there wouldn’t be quite so many Catholics. That’s what all the diversity talk is about.

When things don’t appear to match up to their preferences, they don’t like it.

I hope these schools are admitting the last qualified Catholics that apply before filling the rest of the class with non-Catholics.

Well of course there are! You'd think it was a Catholic school or something! Yeesh.

Anyway, to answer the OP's question- yes a non Christian would still feel welcome.

But if the thought of "omg there are crucifixes and short 10 second prayers before every class!" makes you clutch your pearls, I don't know what to tell you.

If you do not want to be exposed to religion or religious classes, then any religious school is a bad fit. If you can quietly tolerate religion, and not be upset by the various religious aspects, and not complain about those religious aspects, then it can be a very good education.

Here we go...... we want to go to a catholic school, but don't want it to be catholic.

You would be better off at a non-religious school op.

Are there LGBT kids there? How are they treated?

Simple answer- would SC be comfortable and respectful with prayers and inferences to Catholicism. Most kids do fine with the religious classes.

Yes, they'd feel fine. There are Jewish, Orthodox, atheist, and agnostic students and families at SJC.

There are small visuals in the classroom and around campus, but few are very significant. There are quick daily prayers.

A non-Christian would have no difficulty socially whatsoever. Many students are expressly non-Christian.

Of course, though - SJC makes students attend 4 years of Religion classes that primarily focus on Catholicism, but the classes are easy/simple. This is true of most Catholic schools in the DMV area.

Would a non Christian child and family feel comfortable at SJC?

Are there many daily visuals, events referent to Jesus and Christianity? Would it be difficult socially for non Christian, non Christmas celebrating child and family?
