Strongly disagree. Israel is one of the few places in the world where I think it would be tremendously advantageous to do a group tour and I normally hate them.

Disagree - we learned an incredible amount from our tour guide. We would have missed a lot without a guide.

PP, I don’t know about that. It’s hard for first-timers to know what order to see things in, and you don’t get the narrative you would from a guide

Thanks, I will check it out

$14K pp person +airfare is more than we want to spend, but I guess it also depends on how long that’s for.

We have done other Backroads trips in the past and they have been so well done, but they are def expensive for a week. But they really do take care of every little detail.

Will check out Authentic Israel and any others you can recommend. What about Mazada, they keep showing up in my searches…

Our Synagogue runs a 10 day family trip for about $5k pp plus airfare. $14K is insane. Are you in the DC area?

Yes, we live in DC now but are not currently members of a synagogue

I have a recommendation if something like $14K plus airfare and food is in your budget.

Backroads is a wonderful company if you can afford it. Never gone to Israel but other trips.

A question that really only matters for trips to Israel: Are you Jewish, Christian or other? There are tons of family tour groups that cater to the above.

All the trips are more expensive than you'd expect.

We were considering a company like Backroads, but think we can probably find something similar for less money.

Can you recommend the company that you used, and ballpark prices?

This would be for a family of four, 2 parents and 2 DCs: one 20 year old and one 17 year old.

This would be our first trip there.
