I hate all the new fusion food. HATE IT. Team DH all day long. Let them enjoy their Chinese American delicious food.

This is smart! Except if I were OP, I would get really snippy about the fact that I was having to put in the extra time and do all the extra labor to cater to the lowest common denominator. And I would feel kind of sad if everyone was ordering from different places, like we weren’t truly “eating together” (I know that doesn’t quite make sense). This is harder than I thought! Can you agree to alternate restaurants?

Go pick up your order first and put in an insulated cooler. Then swing by the oily place and pick up their order. Win-win.

It’s ok to order separately.

I don't like American Chinese food. I can't believe I used to eat that stuff as a kid.

Boring and insult to injure when you can get better food elsewhere.

Most Chinese places have a few dishes that aren't made with much oil -- it's steamed mostly.

Just go get it from the place you want. Tell them to get their own food.

I only eat Chinese from one place. Everywhere else does not agree with my stomach. When i do travel or kids are at grandmas DH has his fill of the place he wants.

The better place is 15 min farther away. I even said I'd go get it but he insists the food will get cold en route and the grungy, greasy place is better, and now our teen is piling on insisting on it too. Last time we ate there, my crab rangoons were yellow and watery inside.
