If you’re in Nova, Golden Boot will arrange private coaching with their coaches.

We’ve never done private sessions, but have been really happy with their group stuff.

We found a coach on CoachUp, who used to coach at one of the bigger clubs in the area.

For one of my kids, we supplemented so he could be a more confident player. Doing additional skill development made him more confident during games. It worked and he gets plenty of playing time now.

For my other kid, he just wants to be better all the time.

The prices mentioned are on point ($50-80 per session).

There are also small group classes that you can join run by great coaches at local clubs (e.g., NextStar, Technician Football)

As the PP indicated, it depends on what your child needs are. If it is individual technical skills (ball control, dribbling, etc.), a lot of coaches do private lessons on the side. Pricing aligns with PP -- generally around 50-80/hour. if your child needs to work on defending or other skills where you will need a few more individuals/team, you can check with your coach to see if your child can train with another team within the club to get more training time. If your child needs to work on speed and agility, there are coaches in the area that works specifically on that as well.

When your kid is not getting better at team practice, but they want to get better... then they need additional training to work on individual skills as its almost impossible to get that in team training. I can coach my kid at home on individual skills, but sometimes it's easier or more effective or more consistent to have other coaches do it. I have found coaching fees run from $40 to $80 per session. I asked around the club and some of the academy coaches coach on the side. It gives them a chance to do 1 on 1 work instead of the team coaching.

How did you all go about finding a private coach for soccer? When did you determine that it was time to start supplementing training sessions? And what are standard rates?
