That’s a nightmare! IEP meetings that you know won’t go well from the start are the worst kind.

Glad to hear it’s a new lawyer - I was worried for you. I don’t have any suggestions on the math teacher. If it’s a long term sub there isn’t likely much that can/will be done. Long term subs are hard to come by. That is probably why you aren’t hearing from them.

She’s had the same math teacher for years and they aren’t doing anything about your complaints? She’s years behind in math and you have a lawyer and her deficits aren’t being addressed in the IEP? Your daughter’s situation sounds awful and I’m really not understanding what your lawyer is doing and why you’d spend money on an attorney who isnt successful instead of private services.

PS you can very much have an in person meeting and email the principal a summary of your discussion and cc the central office. I do this for work and have no qualms about doing it with the school if necessary.

Omg get her out of there!!!!! If you don’t have a response by the morning show up in the front office and say you will wait until the principal is available. And don’t leave until you have a meeting where you state how unacceptable that is. I would not require my child to go back to that classroom one more time.
The inability to follow the IEP is one thing, mocking a child for her disability is just evil. Can you get her a tutor in the meantime? Your lawyer doesn’t sound very good to be honest. I’d prioritize getting your child help by any means necessary.

I did report it and haven't heard anything from anyone about it (in all fairness its only been a day). I'm really afraid they will find some way to retaliate about it.
My child doesnt want to go back to school if this person continues as her math teacher.
I have plenty of documentation that this is a long term issue and I have communicated with the principal for 2 years. This time I reported to central office so who knows what they will do, if anything. I mean I know their only interested in covering their liability but Im not sure what form that will take.

This is unacceptable and you should report it immediately to the principal and the head of your district, immediately. I would also call CPS and say that it is emotional abuse. And I would insist that your child not be in that class for one minute more.

What grade? Report it and insist on switching classes. Ask the school what tutoring is available and provide your own if you can.
What IEP supports should have been provided that aren't being provided? Document everything. Small group setting, separate room for testing, frequent checks for understanding... Make sure if it's in the IEP it's being provided or offered.

My child has an IEP for math. She is years behind. We now have an issue with her math teacher humiliating her about her math, telling her this is the dumbest thing you have ever done 9 in front of the class) and if she has problems completing work making her write she gave up or didnt try on her paper. Its so ridiculous but any suggestions on how to handle. I truly cant believe adults act like this.
