had a reflux baby and went through easily a dozen a day... the cloth diapers are by far the best (and easier than the muslin)

Muslin. We like the Parker Baby ones.

We could make them out of fabric (flannel, muslin, minky, terry), or we could take cloth diapers and add a pretty ribbon or trim.

What do you and your baby like? I liked the cloth diapers, but I didn't try anything else, so I can't say they aren't better.

A plain, simple cloth diaper. Buy a dozen and they wear like iron.

Have a look at these handmade burp cloths from Barefeet n Dandelions. They're made in the USA and built to be very absorbent and durable. https://www.barefeetndandelions.com

I sewed a dozen burp cloths while pregnant. I used a double countered pattern (like this https://sweetredpoppy.com/free-baby-burp-cloth-sewing-pattern/) with an old thin towel liner, quilted in between two layers of tshirt cotton that I had outgrown. We are still using them years later as rags. Flannel or muslin would have also have been good, but it was peak Covid and I was trying to make do with what I had at home.

I liked the ones with a flannel back because they cling to your clothes easily for burping. Got some from Etsy. I also really like Mushie muslin burp cloths because a)they were a hardier/thicker/more durable muslin than others I tried and b)the shape was actually so perfect for the shoulder.

I liked the flannel ones best. I think there were sold as receiving blankets but I used them as burp clothes all the time. Easy to make: nice flannel rectangle, finish the edges, all done!

Cloth diapers with ribbon trim. Although to be honest, the ribbon trim is just a laundry problem.

My favorites were the ones made of muslin.

My niece is interested in sewing, and decided she would like to make some burp cloths as a gift for her soon to arrive baby cousin. I offered to help, but when my own kids were little we just used cloth diapers.

We could make them out of fabric (flannel, muslin, minky, terry), or we could take cloth diapers and add a pretty ribbon or trim.

What do you and your baby like? I liked the cloth diapers, but I didn't try anything else, so I can't say they aren't better.
