Do you have kids? We always used handheld when rinsing kids off.

The question was is having a separate hand held installed with a diverter between the showerhead and hand held look too cluttered in a shower that is only 20 sq feet.

I know this is always shown in bigger showers - doing a bathroom remodel so not sure if I should put the separate hand held or put it as part of the showerhead (which is cheaper).
It looks like to have a separate hand held vs attached to the shower.

I don't get the premise of the question. You can get a hand-held that doesn't take up space.

Love my hand held. So useful for all the reasons stated by others. I like the big rain stationary shower head but like the smaller handheld for rinsing.

Definitely necessary

I find it pretty convenient for rinsing things off. Ours is attached to the regular shower head, so doesn’t take up extra room.

^^ that's what we have, and I will never give up the handheld for all the reasons already mentioned

What if you had a regular showerhead that also works as a handheld. Then you don't need a separate hand held.

I love mine for all the reasons listed above.

handhelds are always useful for cleaning the shower itself, rinsing shampoo, washing a pet or whatever. i have mine set up so i can run both at once instead of being on a diverter.

No, use your imagination.

If you don't have a need for a handheld, why do it? They're nominally for people with accessibility needs.

If the shower is only 20 sq feet - would the hand held be too cluttered in addition to the showerhead. Not sure if this is too much for a small shower.
