City of Blinding lights, by U2. They opened the show with it back in....2006? I can't remember exactly, but the buzz of the crowd was incredible and the band was on fire.

Alice Smith singing I Put A Spell On You, at Black Girls Rock - Kennedy Center. It still gives me goosebumps.

Nothing super iconic, but really loved seeing Sting sing Walking On The Moon with Jerry Garcia.

(I was not high 😸)

What a fun question!
I immediately thought of Robert Plant, In the Mood. I loved that album, and finally seeing anyone associated with Led Zeppelin was a lot to take in, and he opened with this song, all ethereal and smoke and intense and super drawn-out entrance, and he just emerged from the smoke and it was amazing. We had really good seats, just a few rows back, and I just about died.

It was cool as both Greg and Cher were high as a kite during show and the pot smoke was intense. Cher did not sing any of her songs she only did Allman Brothers songs as part of band.

Not many people remember they had a son together who is also a famous musician

Off topic, but I thought Cher says she does not use drugs?

She did say she smoked some pot in the 1970s. But never drugs. The 1970s drinking beer and smoking pot was not really a big thing. In fact I saw this show in a college gym and they were selling beer and people smoking pot. Smoking was legal indoors in 1970s and drinking age was 18. Greg was a major drug addict.

In the 1970s bands would regularly drink or smoke pot on stage.

The song I remember most clearly from a live concert was Phil Collins In the Air Tonight - not live but played pre-show at a concert. I don't even remember the performer I was there to see, but I remember that song.

Rolling Stones, 2019 at FedEx. Acoustic version of You Can’t Always Get What You Want. I was literally crying and DH, who I had to drag to the show, had tears in his eyes.

Billy Joel at the garden singing Piano Man. At one point, he and the band dropped out and the 50,000 people in the audience all belted out the chorus together.

August 1993 at the Sylvan Theater near the Washington Monument. 30th anniversary of the March on Washington outdoor concert. Fugazi played "Waiting Room", which they NEVER played at their Fort Reno shows or anywhere else (probably because that was their best known song). It was amazing!

1974. Bruce Springsteen singing “Sandy” on a rickety stage in a college gym. He was gripping the microphone and ended up lying on the floor of the stage, singing/whispering the lyrics. Teenage me was in love.

He wasn’t really famous yet, but we all knew we were seeing something really cool. It was a year or so before he was declared “the future of rock and roll” but none of us there that night needed a reporter to tell us what we were seeing with our own eyes.

John Cougar Mellencamp - he played a long version of Pink Houses that was amazing. This was in the 90s in Nashville.
