I had to respond after the last post -- we all learned in COVID that while virtual learning may work for a few, it is far from ideal for many students. If you live in the area and need to find a school for your child, bring them and go visit the school. Go to an event after school and meet some parents. Their PTO website lists a person to contact and there are photos of all the various activities. Yes, the test scores aren't great, and if you choose a school based solely on test scores that will not really show you the whole picture of any school. We could go into a whole separate conversation about the merits/usefulness of those types of tests but that is not the point of this post. Anyway, you will find an option that works for your family, but I would argue that that online learning is not your child's ONLY option.

Try the lottery. If not, you’ll need to look into a virtual school program.

As an educator, I wouldn't consider it for my children in its current state.

OP, if you would like to actually talk to people with kids at the school, let me know and I am happy to connect you. We are not there yet but will be starting middle school next door at Eliot Hine next year and know a few families at Eastern.
Otherwise I'd suggest stopping by the school. Just last week I was at an event a the middle school and was able to meet and talk to some Eastern staff and the Principal.

So what exactly didn’t you like about it when your kid was there. (I’m assuming you had a kid there since you felt qualified to provide feedback.)

Anyone who can read test scores is qualified to provide feedback.

Most people with other options wouldn’t chose it. But you may differ in your goals. Can you tell us more about the school you’re coming from and your kid?

Eastern's vaunted IB Diploma Program, established in 2009 under Michelle Rhee, doesn't even offer IB specific classes these days. The kids take AP classes then IB exams, which doesn't work well of course. Eastern remains a non starter for almost all in-boundary middle-class families.
