Shouldn't these things be addressed BEFORE people will be penalized for breach of contract. I do not want to stay if I am not in my grade level and I feel like I have a right to know this information before being penalized for resigning. When asked, our principal claims he has the right not to tell us until June, which very well be the case. However, MCPS is trapping untenured teachers into their positions by doing so and it is absolutely disgraceful.

Either way, it's not respectful to staff to not be transparent. It just makes things worse. I personally stopped waiting around for MCPS to get back to me for summer (my school isn't offering a summer program) and I found an outside job. I still don't know what I am teaching either next year for my new school, but I know at least the department.![]()
