I’m a parent with an 8th and 6th grader - both of whom went to PBES. Admin was fine - no issues. Not much teacher turnover. Generally people seem to think PBES is the weak link in Takoma Park schools though I’m not exactly sure why.

PBES has a strong reputation. I will say a lot of administrators frequent these boards, so just be mindful the admin might see this thread.

I’m an MCPS teacher and parent. I have a job interview at PBES on Monday. I live in Takoma Park and my son, who is a sophomore at Blair now, went to PBES. I currently teach special education at two schools in the BCC area. Human Resources has transferred me to two other schools in Chevy Chase and Rockville. This was my first year in the county and they can involuntarily transfer me due to caseload numbers changing and service hours. I’m trying to get closer to home and teach at one school. I just want to get a feel for the administration from a parent and/or teacher perspective. It’s an in person interview, which is nerve racking!! Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks.
