I wouldn't worry about not taking bottles as long as she can nurse, but the food part seems a bit concerning. I would get that checked out soon.

They probably meant during the day. I had chubby babies who loved to eat every 3 hours but STTN easily. They got their calories in from more constant feeding.

Is she able to sit up by herself? could be her core strength and overall motor skills need strengthening

Ask your pediatrician at your 9 month appointment. My oldest wasn't very interested in solids until she was 10/11 months old, which was also when I stopped nursing on demand and started getting us on a regular schedule. Younger was all in on solids at 5.5 months the first time we offered them. All kids are different.

It unsustainable for some momes to be the only source of food for another 4-5 months though! Nursing every 3 hrs is tough.

2/3 babies were like this. All 3 refused bottles.

I wouldn't worry about the food at all. They get used to it and they get hungrier after 12 months. They look around and want to eat what you're eating. Breastmilk is enough before 1.

Sorry about the bottles. Mine only took it under duress at daycare, never from a relative or dh and I.

We haven't see her since the six month checkup when she gave us the ok to start solids. She's gaining weight so she didn't bring anything up.

Try different purees and cereals - make the cereals more watery. Try a sippy cup - different ones with water or watered down formula and then increase the consistency of the formula.

You need to look into feeding therapyband work with her on jt.

She was born at 36+1, so she's technically almost seven months adjusted age. We are trying food two or three times a day, but she's pushing it out of her mouth with the extrusion reflex. Won't take a bottle (I've tried all the tricks). She's gaining weight because I still nurse every three hours during the day and once at night so I'm not worried about that, but at what point should I be worried about this? I just feel like we're not making progress and it's stressful being her only source of food.
