I’d rather have 1 week at Christmas and 1 week in Feb. way too long between Jan-April without a significant break for students and teachers.

Basically we are starting 4 eke earlier than 2021 now!

Although that was not a normal year, I don’t understand that a few extra religious holidays need a 4 weeks longer school year?

Most of the states that start 2 weeks before Labor Day, also let out much earlier in June… ?

Also yes, the calendar is disruptive.

Agree that a set calendar is good. Disagree that summer is too long. It isn’t just moving days around; they are adding an extra week of school to get back to 180 days, even though APS meets state requirements via hours.

This is a strong approach and brings certainty. The constant debate over school calendars is no way to run a school system. Waste of time. Summer break is already too long. Tired of the "working families" trope. Just about everyone works, whether it's over the summer, winter break, etc. We're just moving around when that is, and we need to stop that and just pick a schedule so that we all know what to expect.

I like the idea of a fixed calendar, especially for spring break.

Starting TWO WEEKS before Labor Day indefinitely sounds horrible though. Maybe one week…
