It depends on what you want. Consider your connections, and how much help you will need to get out. All of these programs, 92NY, Episcopal, All Souls, Brick Church, etc. have oodles of siblings and legacies that are pretty much guaranteed to get spots at the top ongoing schools, so you will fit in around those people. Some of the programs are bigger than others, with morning and afternoon spots (which means more competition to get out). I know people who left all of these programs to go early to ongoing schools (Riverdale, Horace Mann, and Ethical Culture) to avoid the crazy competition of exmissions.
My children went to one of these preschools, unconnected, and the biggest difference I can see in our ongoing is that some kids were better prepared academically (less of an emphasis on play), but that isn't without problems - many of those kids have major adjustments to learning to playing nicely with others. But by grade 2/3, it all seems to even out anyway.
