Does anyone have experience at this level who can tell me if the pace slows down as the chapters move on?

I am trying to figure out what is typical for students who have done these lessons.

TIA

There is no "typical" pace. End of story.

What matters is your child's level of interest, time commitment, and thoroughness in doing the practice problems.

Beast Academy is great! My kid started from Level 3 (in person class at AoPS with online homework) and skipped to Level 4 in the middle of that school year. There was a chapter that we had to go back to level 3 and relearned it ourselves, but not bad at all. I know nothing about level 1 and 2, but as one of the PP points it out, make sure your child practice all the questions. If they are truly ready to move on, why not? For levels 3, 4, and 5, some topics are easier and take little time. I assume it is the same for levels 1 and 2.

We started BA online when it first came out, but at the time, it was limited to grades 3, 4, and 5. DC was starting 3rd and they managed to blow through it. They did about 50% of the lessons through the 5th grade within 6 months. They redid many of them 4 or 5 times, even over the next year or two.

I have used the grade 1 and 2 material with my younger child. I think there's some great stuff there, but we use it more as a supplement than as a whole curriculum. As time goes by though I expect we'll use it a lot more by 3rd grade.

PP: I would have zero concern about them doing as much as they want, as long as they are doing the problems (and reading the comic - DC was skipping the comics and only going back if they didn't understand, which wasn't beneficial and enjoying it.

My DC was doing 2nd grade level math in K (homeschooling) and would have handled BA level 1 fine that year.

Is he reading AND completing the problems in the workbook/online problems? My DC was 6 and did 2A before Level 1 came out. We had an online subscription and DC sped through 2A in the summer but then slowed once school work picked up (we were homeschooling and doing BA as a supplement to our "main" math curriculum that was parent-taught).

One note, Level 1 is fairly new (last 1-2 years?), so people may not have as much experience with it to report. 2+ has been out a lot longer.

My DC recently started Beast Academy 1A. I am an educator and saw both interest and aptitude for the material despite my child being young (5, PreK). However, DC has finished 2 chapters and it hasn't even been a week yet.
