Our school PTA manages the week but leaves one day up to room parents. We’re having the kids make cards and are putting together gift basket for the teacher (flowers, chocolate, personalized name stamp, personalized labels, mug with coffee gift card, and gift cards to Target and Visa). I think we collected about $600 so will be a nice basket.

I think it varies by school. (From my experience, some schools left it all up to the PTA and others relied exclusively on the room parents to set it up.) I’m guessing there’s possibly an equity issue at your school so homemade drawings, notes and cards, poems, or bringing in flowers or homemade treats may be your best bet. Good luck!

Here's what we did:

Monday - bagels, cream cheese and lox (and butter) for the teacher and class (all the kids came having not eaten breakfast), plus water.
Tuesday - presented the teacher with a poster with pics of each kid and what they like about the teacher
Wednesday - school supplies - pencils engraved with the teacher's name (more likely to get them back), hand sanitizer, tissues, copy paper
Thursday - munchkins
Friday - books (each child brought in their fave book on or above grade level to plump up the classroom library)

Tuesday: Lunch and thank you letters from students
Wednesday: Snacks
Thur: Happy hour paid by PTA
Friday: Ice cream social

Families are also chalking the sidewalk outside of school

Raise money from the parents and buy gift cards. You could also gently remind the parents what the teacher's favorite things are (our teachers filled out a little sheet that had their favorite candy, drink, store, etc) and ask that they bring in a treat for them any day of the week.

There is shaky a daily small thing that each class does. Ie Monday - wear your teacher’s favorite color. Tuesday - bring in a homemade card for your teacher.

Our school used to have the room parents organize something for the Teacher but then some classes donated more then others and nothing or little was done for the Specials Teachers. The PTA raises money now and has a theme day each day of the week so that all the Teachers are recognized.

Donuts and coffee. Chocolate covered strawberries, fruit, bagels. Some kind of breakfast one day.

Watch the kids for them at recess one day during the week.

One day can be flowers - have each kid bring one flower and combine in a vase.

Gift cards. Collect and present a variety.

Homemade cards - pick one day the kids bring in a nice homemade card for the teacher.

Have your class wear your teacher’s favorite colors one day.
