Various parent groups have hosted themed lunches for staff. Mexican, Chinese, Indian etc. Usually it is 4-5 families that organize it.

Seemed to work well.

Please don’t do this. My lunch is about 25 min. Think about how long it takes to walk outside and wait for a food truck even if it’s moving fast. A lot of us skip them when they come because we don’t have time to eat.

Parents donated individual snack packs - chips, popcorn, nuts, goldfish, cookies - and created a snack tower in the staff room for the teachers to grab a snack whenever they want.

Parents donated apples, oranges, plums and bananas, and a parent/staff who worked in the office - made a fruit basket available for them each day for a whole week.

Our school PTA donated a large fridge for staffroom and for a week, PTA donated cheese-sticks, yogurt, hummus etc, for the teachers to grab for the staff appreciation week.

Some SGA kids helped with locking up the food and with making sure they were fresh each day. So a bit of coordination is required.

Our school's SGA did a barbecue lunch today and Admin did a Ice cream bar yesterday. We also did a seperate pasta/lunch put on by one of our classes on Wednesday. Our PTSA didn't do anything.

Where do you live, OP? Pick a local restaurant where your school has done dining for dollars. A lot of our local restaurants are giving us free delivery/free appetizers for a large catering order because they know our families go there a lot and they make a ton of money on our dining for dollar nights even when they're giving us a portion of their proceeds. We're having lunch delivered every week - some we're paying for, some are sponsored, some another company is paying for.

What is your school doing?
What were some favorites in the past?

I’m the staff appreciation chair and looking for some ideas.
