They're good but I don't always want them. And it's easier to eat lunch on the go with a fork, hence bowl with rice and beans. Like Chipotle.

It makes sense, but this is pretty high maintenance. You can definitely ask if they can make a bowl, but since it's "an authentic taqueria" they may not be geared to this kind of food. Order your sides to go and make your own bowl at home, or do that at the table. Suggesting that the restaurant make a special menu item for you is entitled.

Just order the tacos, rice, and beans side and extra salsa and ask for an extra plate. I feel like someone at the table will eat the tortillas. And yeah its weird. When I lived in Mexico and we were literally at the end of the meal and there werent any more tortillas - they were going to send someone out to the corner for more. I was like cmon guys - we can have bread or something, but no it had to be tortillas.

I already sent an email and nobody responded, so I'm not sure if they just didn't see it or if my inquiry was offensive. So I'm slightly concerned about asking more directly the next time we place a to-go order. It's a really small and direct menu. If they offered a bowl, I think it would be listed?

Why don't you also suggest what brand of cooking oil they use; and which payroll vendor to use, and who to get their tomato supplies from.

You could ask the waitress if they're able to make a bowl up instead of using tortillas, but I wouldn't suggest a price.

We love this super authentic taqueria near our home. Really terrific tacos. They also sell delicious beans and delicious rice on the side. Would it be okay to ask if they would simply combine everything (taco ingredients on top of rice and beans with salsa) in a bowl without the tortillas for like $10? It seems like a no-brainer business-wise but maybe this is a cuisine faux pas and I'll sound like an obtuse and entitled Karen.
