We had a great trip to Iceland in December.

It is all about your state of mind. Somewhere like London would also be good - it isn’t like you would ever go there for the weather.

We went to Venice and Florence at Christmas last year (plus skiing in the Dolomites but there won't be sufficient snow in November, I think). Great trip -- weather was brisk in Venice and weirdly warm in Florence.

If warmth and sunshine are important to you, though, what about South America? I bet teenagers would love Buenos Aires.

Italy along the Adriatic can be terribly windy in November. It’s an ok time for Venice, Florence and Rome.

Anything other than Portugal and Spain will be dark and damp.

Luxembourg. Great place to visit with your DC.

Agree, you just have to embrace it. I have had lovely trips to London and Paris around that time of year. Lots of shows, museums, and cozy meals.

As a Swiss, I wouldn't go to Switzerland in November. It just seems like a waste. At least Italy will not be as cold and gloomy. Or embrace it and go to Copenhagen.

Everywhere in Europe is dark, cold and damp in November. You just have to embrace it!
I would go north - Oslo, Copenhagen, Berlin, Hamburg

The upside to the weather issue is that shows will be ongoing--opera, theater, etc. We had a fabulous week in Paris.

Italy.

Copenhagen and Amsterdam will be dark, too.

Our kids (age 12 and 14) have the whole week off over Thanksgiving this year and we're thinking about going to Europe, but where has decent weather and daylight hours that time of year? Was thinking Iceland but there's only like 6 hours of daylight in November. We've been to Portugal, Paris and Spain so would like somewhere different this time. throwing around Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Italy, or Switzerland. Where else is good that time of year that teens will enjoy? (i.e., more to do than just history and museums and churches)
