If you don’t get it, use mobile passport app instead. I don’t about Dulles, but it uses the same line as GE At JFK. Breeze right through.

My mom renewed in November. Nothing yet. She called last week to follow up again and they said it could be another 7 months.

It will be random. Within 2 weeks for conditional approval, or months and months. Each person could be one or the other. There isn't a way to really know.
If all of you get it within 2 weeks, you then have to find available interview slots. There may be some available, but recently it's been hard. There are a few sites that can help.

New applications seem to be faster than renewals.
