The people posting on the midlife forum are ACs caring for their 70 yr old parents, not the 70 year olds themselves.

As an adult child myself, I visit my parents twice a year. They don't travel any more.

Also, a person can easily have a 30 yo kid and still be in their late 50s.

Right! Midlife is 33-66. If you’re 66-99 you’re past midlife.

We are good adult kids, never have asked for anything and yet neither parents care to even call us anymore.

We see each other once a year on average.
Parents live in Europe. Adult kid lives in US.

Another AC here, with 1 kid. Parents live across the country and I see them 3-4 times a year. Now that they're older I am trying to go visit them more, vs make them travel to us.

ILs are local and we see them 1 to 3 times a month. It used to be weekly but honestly that was too much and I was glad we got a break during covid. I like them but we only get so many weekend hours and they can't really get their heads around a short visit.

I am an AC in that age range without kids. My parents don't live close by but not exactly far either--4ish hours driving distance, depending on traffic. I don't see them as much as I should. I typically go to them about twice a year, typically once around Christmas for close to a week and another long weekend. My mom will come visit me on her own a couple times a year for long weekends. She likes DC and has fun getting away from my dad and local brother.

I should visit them more. It's a long enough trip that it is tough to make the trip without taking time off work, and my father and brother are pretty exhausting. All that stuff comes into play. But I still know I should visit more!

They see my brother who lives nearby at least weekly.

I am an AC in that age range, married without kids. I see them every other Christmas and every other Thanksgiving, alternating with in-laws. My parents are divorced but live near each other, so I divide my visit in half. I try to get to their area 3x a year for 4-5 days at a time. They might visit me once a year-- used to be more, but they're getting older. I don't pressure them to visit me in the winter because I can ski when I visit them.

I'm the adult child. My parents and I have lived across the country from each other for 19 years. I've gone to visit two or three times. My nearby brother has kids so the parents come to see them anywhere from once to three times in a year and I'll generally see them then. My parents and brother are literally millionaires and I earn five figures.

I am an adult child in this age range with no kids. I live 1,000 miles from my parents and I see them twice a year. They come to me once, and I go to them once.
