It has happened with my kids with daycare sometimes. So getting a feed and cuddles I think is sometimes about that, the connection. So personally I think ok to give it, usually it is a phase with my kids (I had to sleep train my kids too but they still woke to eat at that age and for an early morning wake like that I would just feed, not sleep train, personally). It could also be the overtiredness from daycare is causing the early waking. And then a feed helps him kind of go back to sleep and make it the last little bit. Again personally I would just do it.
I wouldn't worry too much about ounces. Just offer the extra feed, he will drop it again eventually. At least my kid usually dropped their night feeds mostly on their own. Every kid is different.
And I wouldn't worry too much about the weight. See how it is in two weeks. My kid was recently sick and weight was down at the appointment and I got concerned but when we took him back it was completely back and ped said that kids lose more weight when sick than we would expect because since there isn't as much to lose it looks more stark when they lose a couple pounds. Or something like that, I can't remember her exact explanation but basically she said - normal! So it may not be related.
Thanks - that's helpful! I have to get up and pump anyways so it's not awful, just sooo tired
