If you are software engineer or nurse. It’s a hot market.
Everyone else, it’s recession.

Volunteer for PM duties on your projects to transition internally, then get a PM job elsewhere as an experience candidate.

I'm a tax professional, and thus far, 8 recruiters reached out to me on LinkedIn this week - even though I'm not looking for a new job.

Companies are not spending freely due to the cost of capital. OP: You are in the right industries at this time.

I'm a business analyst who's trying to break into project management roles. I've applied to maybe like 30 jobs and haven't had any interviews yet - I did have one virtual screening though. Some in tech and consulting, but mostly energy and utilities, which is the industry I currently work in. I live in a metro a bit smaller than DC, but it still has a few million people. I know tech has been having layoffs, so I should be grateful layoffs don't seem on the horizon for my company. But it seems like the unemployment rate is pretty low. Is the market not great for white collar work right now? I figured energy would be better than tech. What's your experience with the job market right now?
