It did not occur to me to bribe my 4 year old. And if I did it again, I still wouldn't.

You know what I mean. No 3 year old is getting onto the GDS website to look at dates, writing admissions essays, scheduling interviews, going to the playgroups, loving the testing...my daughter got into a big 3 preK this spring and an admissions person at the playdate told me that every kid there told her what they were getting from their parents after it was over (candy, cookies, etc.) These are bribes because the kids don't want to be there. The parents want them to be there.
This is honestly crazy. I didn’t even consider bribing my 5 year old. I told them that they were going to play with some other kids, and that maybe GDS would be a better fit. Should they ask, we will say that their current DCPS is better because it has more playgrounds (or whatever other reason we think of in the moment). Bribing them just seems crazy, not to mention the kid will obviously share that they were bribed

My 3 year old was begging to go to gds because she saw busses in the parking lot. She didn't get in. She went on to have a successful school career featuring many bus trips.

Damn. That’s disappointing, though unsurprising. I was hoping for extra movement this year since they accepted so few kids. We already planned to reapply for DC in a couple years, though.

I know a kid who just got off the waitlist for 9th grade. They plan to decline. So there is movement.

My neighbor just found out her daughter was admitted off the waitlist for 1st grade. Has anyone else heard anything? I’m hoping they have more movement this year since they admitted so few kids
