Throughout the years, my kids' teachers have:
Written positive notes home
Called us with positive news
Led clubs or sports, putting in waaaay more time than they were paid for
Been good humans, kind, caring, and cared about my kids

I saw all of this in PreK through high school. I'm so grateful for the teachers we've had.

I'm a specialist and try to do this a couple times a week and it makes me so happy. Often kids take a compliment more to heart when you have made the effort to share it with their families. There is so much I enjoy about the kids I work with and it's fun to share with parents.

She’s kind to my kid, and she’s kind to me. She sees the good in all the kids.

Older kid’s teacher seems like she just loathes being a teacher, and takes it out on the class.

DD 3rd teacher is emotionally kind and forgiving ( she is not the strict type of teacher).

DD 4th teacher has given DD all sorts of fun opportunities this year including being chosen to be on their school news crew!

She sends us notes on how my ADHD DS is doing, and updates us on assignments we should be aware of.

My daughter's teacher posts lots of pics on remind.com so I can see how and what my child is learning in class. She also communicates to tell us some happenings around town too.

I love this thread OP! I have a PK kid and her teacher will ‘do her hair’ by putting little ponytails in it. My DD kind of has issues with her hair but she absolutely loves when her teacher does her hair. And I know those tiny rubber bands are so annoying but her teacher is just so kind and caring to her.

My now-4th grader still exchanges letters with her retired 2nd grade teacher, who always writes back.

The current 4th grade teacher gave my kid the confidence to sing a big solo in the class play. I would never have thought that was for her but she wasn't even nervous!

We have had multiple teachers deal with bullying and other uncomfortable social issues promptly and with kindness.

My 5th grade son thinks his teacher is very funny. I appreciate that. I know not everyone has a great sense of humor but it's so nice to hear him telling these positive stories of the funny things his teacher said.

Also, she sent us a postcard telling us all the reasons she enjoys teaching our kid.

DS started asking the librarian for recommendations for his biweekly reading requirements, and now he said she's ready with several book recs based on his interests and the books he's enjoyed.

I appreciate any teacher who seems to understand the importance of getting to know their students.

The teacher who praises the effort and not just the result. And whose pride in progress is so genuine. Kind of obsessed with my kid’s teacher actually.
