A direct flight is 1.5 hours. I'm 40 minutes from the airport, I'll need to arrive 1.5 hours early. The hotel is about 1/2 hour from the airport in Asheville, plus you have to factor getting to the rental and getting the car. That's 4.5 hours.

You can fly direct to Greenville and then drive. That’s probably what I would do. GSP is a nice airport. It’s about 90 minutes up to Asheville I think.

This is exactly what we did. Stopped in Charlottesville on the way home.

Drive. We just did this drive to visit family and it was lovely. You can take the Blue Ridge Parkway for an even nicer view, thought it adds some time.

Drive. You will need a car when you get there, so why not drive? Might be less expensive and nicer to even rent a large car than fly. It's also going to be faster than flying, once you add in airport security, etc...

Would you fly or drive? Flying is Allegient Air for $900ish total for 4 people (2 couples), plus $300ish to rent a car. Would take about 4.5 hours with the airports. Can drive for $150 total in gas (lease the car so no wear and tear) but it would take 7.5 hours. Thoughts?
