Yes NW DC and Bethesda too. Police don't care, don't bother sending in your security camera footage, but do log in the stat.

You can’t put this on the police. The council in Montgomery County doesn’t want the police to interact with the public. That is literally written into their Reimagining Public Safety document. (Also take a look at Jawando’s STEP act, through which police won’t be able to pull cars over for any low-level offenses. You’ll start seeing more police “ignore” offenses - but it’s because they have to.) The police are also severely understaffed, once again a result of the council.

If you want enforcement, look to the council. They’re the ones taking it away.

If we're going to be honest we need to admit we DON'T get who/what we vote for. EVER.

I saw a mystery last night that was out of Chevy Chase. It's too bad there is so much crime there. It's a pretty place. We had no crime in our area until someone allowed an apartment complex to be built. Nice clean place, high rent but a certain amount of apartments were set aside for low income single mothers. The kids that caused trouble were 13 and 15 years old. Damn shame they caused their family grief and had to move. They stole all of my neighbor's plants and wind chimes, broke into 2 cars, took a lot of yard decorations. My gate to my backyard was demolished when they tried to climb it and run.

Jury duty canceled again, too many trials taking up the court space to move new trials in.

Police are only one part of the equation, after that comes prosecutors and judges.

Is it really just one insane person always posting these rants about Montgomery County? I get that there are many posters alarmed about crime and who don’t like MoCo government but there are different levels of nutty.
