I am so happy with my Mirena IUD that completely eliminated my period so I never have to think about this again and I need to share my joy with someone.

OP here. I am using the Saalt disc, regular size.

Yes one of the benefits of the disc over the cup is no suction. With the cup I did worry about how it might be affecting my pelvic floor. The disc presumably just kind of sits in the fornix. It's pretty big and I can feel it in there, I hope it is not causing any issues in there. It's not uncomfortable.

Unfortunately I can't speak to the prolapse piece. I will say it doesn't rely on the vagina to keep it in place, if that is helpful.

Post 3 babies I’ve been struggling with my menstrual cup, my body seems to push it out. I think my pelvic floor is messed up. I tried the period parties, but they are really only good for lighter days.

Now I’m curious to try the disc. Is it good for women who have had multiple kids and prolapse? I’m so tired of trying to find a good fit.

Would love to know which you use. I loved Instead years ago, until my gyno told me that due to the suction it had left a visible ring on my cervix! I hadn’t used them for a couple months, so that was a shock. Before that, I loved it. Somehow reduced cramps and period sex (which I normally never, ever am game for because…ew) was amazing.

The disc is way easier to position for sure. What brand are you using?

The other day I left my cup in for a whole day without realizing…..thankfully I was okay.

The cup has less capacity and does not autodump so I need to remove and insert it more often on my heavy days. In addition, it is more finicky so I have to spend more time positioning it. Sometimes I'd put it in, and after walking around I realize I need to reposition it. With the disc I just have to shove it in as far as I can and I'm set for 12 hours.

I don't think there is a secret unfortunately. Based on my reading, it sounds like each person's experience can be different based on their anatomy. I did see there is a resuable menstrual disc on the market with a removal tab that could help with that. I haven't tried it. I use one with a removal notch though that is not reliable because if the disc rotates you can't reach the notch (but I haven't really had major issues with removal in any case).

I use disposable discs and I love them! They are definitely great!

I was using a cup for a while and it was fine, but not amazing. I decided to try a disc instead. It took a couple of cycles to understand how to use it. At first I believed it would not work for me. But now, this is just amazing. It's so easy to insert. I can feel it, but it's not uncomfortable. On my heavy days, it autodumps when I use the bathroom so it never gets too full. No more smelly tampons or pads. I love it. It is like magic.
