OP. The issue is taking the motorcycle on the highway though. The bike can handle highway speeds, but I’ve sworn to both my wife and my mother I never will (both are convinced I will die). Otherwise it would be ideal, as I have free parking for the bike at the office. That’s actually why I got it in the first place in DC!

I’m in DC now but am considering a move out to NOVA. I drive a 300cc Vespa in the city (so too big for 50cc scooter rules), but end up walking when I go on the metro because none of the city stops have parking.

However, I saw on WMATA’s website the stops with parking also have dedicated motorcycle spots. Anyone have experience with them? I cannot find any information on pricing. Are those free, at a reduced rate, or the same cost as a car spot? Also, if anyone has used them for computing, any bad experiences with people not leaving your bike alone? I’m considering riding to the station as a commuting option, and if it seems good might mean I’m ok moving farther away from the metro.
