For me, it depends on the restaurant. Chinese places have increased their prices much more significantly than the pizza and the Indian place I frequent. My go to mexican place is in the middle

Agree. If I’m going to eat out, it needs to be special or something I can’t make at home. I never get fast casual or even one step up type of restaurant unless it’s a social outing.

Yes. I now only go to restaurants to get food I can't make myself, which means most mid-range restaurants are out. Going out to eat is more of a special occasion now, where I am fully prepared to pay a high price.

I feel you. We went out for Chinese the other night and our bill was $90 for what used to be roughly $50.

Yes, it’s definitely gotten more expensive. This has challenged me to up my cooking game, and I’m actually enjoying it quite a bit! But I do feel bummed sometimes that I can’t go out as much as I did. I like the bustle and ambiance of a restaurant, and of course they do some things that I find it difficult to replicate, even as a pretty decent home cook.

Is anyone else feeling major sticker shock at restaurants? I feel bad for the restaurants because I know they are having the pass along their increased costs, but darn it, we are feeling the pinch and not eating out nearly as much as we used to.

Recent example: went to a German restaurant in the District. 2 entrees, 1 dessert, 1 beer, plus tax and tip, and the total was $115. This was just a casual midrange restaurant and we didn't even have apps and I drank water.
