Get her a sport suit -- go somewhere like Swim Fair. Alternatively, Athleta/Gap/Old Navy has nice one pieces.

I see this recommendation pop up all the time. One of the reasons it doesn't work for my young teen (besides the prints), is that the sizing is off. For instance, she'd be a size L or XL for bust and hips, but a size XS for waist. The result often is that what fits at the top is usually too baggy and loose at the bottom. Teens that have gone through puberty are usually built different from your average 6 or 8 year old.

Jolyn is great because the tieback ones adjust to fit right

Good luck. My 13 year old DD has been looking for a one piece that looks cute, and not like one of her athletic swim suits, and come up empty. If she's open to regular swimsuits that swimmers and divers wear, there are lots of options, but not if she wants them in light colors and girly prints.

My kid is 5’7”, 140 lbs and wears a size 32 Jolyn/Arena/Tyr and a 34 Speedo. Size charts can be helpful since they use more info than just overall height/weight but it may take some effort to find a good fit if you’re buying online.

Sure. You can get ones with the criss cross straps in back like a lot of swim team kids do. They have some patterns but usually geometric and not cutesy.

These are the brands my 16 yo prefers, especially Jolyn (the tie-back styles in particular are very popular at our pool).

Is a plain speedo too babysih?

My 13yo DD - 5’3” and 85 pounds only wants one piece swim suits this summer.

The problem is, the stuff in the girls section she has deemed too babyish (her word and she’s not wrong). When she recently needed a dress, we got Ann Taylor petite zero.

Any ideas for where to find something that would fit her? Thanks!
